J.K. Place Firenze is a multi-award winning boutique hotel in Florence. There are too many awards to mention all of them but it was voted #1 Hotel in Europe and #1 Hotel in Florence and #22 Hotel in the World in Travel + Leisure’s THE WORLD’S BEST AWARDS 2019.

It’s hard to believe that I first visited J.K. Place Firenze in 2003. I was heavily pregnant with my first daughter and was the first ever visitor at Florence’s first luxury boutique hotel. Still surrounded by scaffolding and not quite ready to open, even then it was obvious something very special had arrived in Florence, a hotel that was going to set the standards for boutique hotels in Italy. Sitting right on the Piazza Santa Maria Novella this white jewel shines brightly, its location, style and service second to none. So immaculate are the interiors J.K. Place Firenze might have only opened yesterday.

Claudio Meli, concierge at the time and now GM was as charming then as he is now and his knowledge of his beloved Florence is second to none. He will open the secret keys to the city and allow you to step inside and explore private places and palaces, in accessible to tourists.

This elegant boutique hotel in Florence combines neo-classical design (thanks to Architect Michele Bonan) with understated luxury which is evident in each of the 20 rooms and suites and marble en-suite bathrooms. All of the rooms have complimentary soft drinks in the mini-bar and a plate of organic seasonal fruit (so beautiful they almost don’t look real). If budget allows book the spacious rooftop suite which has amazing 360° views across the square and the Florence's rooftops.

Put your feet up and relax with an aperitivo (the Bloody Marys are some of the best in town) whilst watching the world go by or enjoy a candlelit dinner in the J.K. Lounge - the terrace on the square is the perfect spot. Expect innovative modern dishes as well as some authentic traditional Italian food.

Condé Nast Traveller calls J.K. Place Firenze 'tailors of hospitality', a testament to the exceptional service given to the guests here at J.K. Place Firenze but also at the other J.K. Place properties in Rome and now Paris.

Why stay here? Not withstanding my overly biased opinion, it really is one of the best boutique hotels in Florence.

Rates at J.K. Place Firenze start from £325 per night, book here.
