The Best British Hotel Products and Where to Find Them (part 3 100 Acres)
100 Acres
100 Acres was born in 2014 from a lifelong love of the countryside and a desire to bottle and share its magic. The founders’ thinking was that if they could, they would spend all of their time running naked through a hundred acres of fragrant English countryside full of lavender, roses, herbs and wildflowers. Alas they don’t have a hundred acres so have bottled it instead. Ellea leads the 100 Acres Team and spends time dreaming up and crafting products so exquisite - so absolutely bursting with fresh botanicals - that they’ll transport you to a hundred acres of heavenly English countryside with each and every use. 100 Acres has crafted a rich, natural formula infused with freshly distilled botanical oils, including magnolia flower, rose geranium, orange, and more. The body wash is a sell-out product, and supply can barely meet the demand. The intoxicating fragrance transports you to the wildflower meadows of the British countryside. Complementing the body wash and lotion is their bath salts. Recently relaunched and presented in a beautiful green and gold glass jar, they bring the spa experience into your home; the pink Himalayan salts and natural oils soothe the mind, body and spirit.
100 Acres can be found in a select handful of beautiful luxury countryside and city hotels, estates and manor houses across the UK; my favourites include:
The Painswick, Cotswolds
The 16-room Painswick is more than just a place to stay; it’s a luxurious, dog-friendly hotel that captures the essence of the Cotswolds. This secluded Cotswold retreat is a meticulously restored 18th-century hotel that cleverly combines contemporary style with the warmth of traditional charm. The restaurant celebrates each season with locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the rich flavours of the Cotswolds. Couples searching for a romantic escape will love the spa and beautifully designed gardens. Explore the charming nearby villages, scenic walking trails, and historic sites.
Calcot & Spa, Cotswolds
Part of the same group as The Painswick Calcot & Spa is luxury country house hotel with spa, tennis courts, outdoor pool and activity area for children - perfect for families.
Double Red Duke, Cotswolds
Country Creatures is a small, exquisite family of country inns and pubs created by Georgie and Sam Pearman.
Double Red Duke is one of the best places to stay in the Cotswolds, dog-and child-friendly. Double Red Duke is more boutique hotel than a country pub with rooms. Cosy interiors feature sitting rooms with open fires, fresh flowers, and several dining areas. Breakfast is served in the conservatory or bar and is a veritable feast with delicious cinnamon buns from nearby Blakes bakery. The 19 rooms are large with sisal flooring, spacious bathrooms with deep, wide baths and walk-in showers. Expect homemade cookies, Roberts radios, and the latest lifestyle magazines. An idyllic countryside escape for a mid-week or weekend escape. Hard to beat and a place I would choose over many luxury hotels.
Just know that whatever Georgie and Sam Pearman create will be brilliant and there are two new places on the horizon Wild Duck and The Duchess so watch this space!
The Princess Royal, London
Cubitt House is a group of pubs (three with rooms) across London.
This four-room restaurant with rooms is one of the best places to stay in Notting Hill, if not London. Rooms are named after royalty, and Elizabeth is our favourite, with a large green roll-top bath and a spacious tiled bathroom. Ben Tish’s food is the star of the show, producing mouthwatering menus that change regularly. Georgie Pearman’s involvement in this group shines through.
100 Acres also donates 1% of all sales to Rewilding Britain.
