Rosewood Hong Kong

Rosewood Hong Kong

Rosewood Hong Kong has been named The World’s Best Hotel 2025 at the glittering awards ceremony for The World’s 50 Best Hotels, held at Old Billingsgate in London. Now in its third year, the event celebrates extraordinary places to stay across the globe – hotels that set the bar for design, service, and unforgettable experiences.

This year’s list features hotels from 22 destinations across six continents, with Asia leading the way with 20 entries.

Why Rosewood Hong Kong Stands Out

Overlooking Victoria Harbour, Rosewood Hong Kong is impossible to ignore. The 65-storey tower, designed by Tony Chi, has become an icon of modern Asian luxury. It feels fresh yet timeless – sleek interiors, art at every turn, and a calm energy that instantly slows your pace.

There are 413 rooms, eleven restaurants and bars, and a vast infinity pool with views that stretch across the water. But it’s Asaya, the hotel’s wellness space, that sets it apart. Think private treatment suites, spa lodges with sleep-enhancing technology, and some of the best holistic therapists in the world.

The win feels well-deserved. Rosewood Hong Kong has been in the top three since the awards began in 2023. This year, it finally claims the crown.

Asia’s Moment

Asia dominates the list once again, with Bangkok proving a serious contender for the title of world’s most exciting hotel city. Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River ranks No.2, followed by Capella Bangkok at No.3. Raffles Singapore (No.5) and Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing (No.14) also feature high on the list, with the latter named Best New Hotel.

Desa Potato Head in Bali takes home the Eco Hotel Award for its carbon-neutral approach and commitment to sustainability – and rightly so.

Europe’s Finest

Europe claims 17 of the 50 places, with five in the UK. Passalacqua on Lake Como (No.4) wins the Best Boutique Hotel Award for the second year running. Claridge’s (No.16), The Connaught (No.29), Raffles London at The OWO (No.31), The Emory (No.32) and Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire (No.47) all make the cut, proving Britain still knows how to deliver polished hospitality with character.

In Paris, Le Bristol (No.19) and Cheval Blanc (No.21) shine once again, while in Italy, Four Seasons Firenze (No.9) and Hotel Il Pellicano (No.26) continue to charm discerning travellers.

Across the Globe

Beyond Asia and Europe, Chablé Yucatán in Mexico (No.8) takes Best Hotel in North America, while Royal Mansour in Marrakech (No.13) climbs an impressive 25 spots to win the Highest Climber Award. Oceania sees Capella Sydney (No.12) recognised as Best Hotel in Oceania, and The Calile in Brisbane (No.34) joins the list for the first time.

Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro (No.11) earns the Highest New Entry Award, bringing classic glamour back into the spotlight.

The Special Awards

Each year, the awards recognise standouts beyond the rankings. This time, the new Johnnie Walker Art of Design Award went to Singita – Kruger National Park (No.40) for its beautifully immersive architecture. Ian Schrager, the visionary behind Studio 54 and the boutique hotel movement, received the SevenRooms Icon Award.

Four Seasons was named the Most Admired Hotel Group for its global consistency and elegance, while Soneva Fushi (No.28) took home the Art of Hospitality Award for service that’s truly personal.

Why It Matters

Hotel Awards like these highlight the shift in how we travel. People are looking for meaning, not just luxury – spaces that connect design, service, and experience. From Hong Kong’s skyline to the quiet hills of Lake Como, these hotels remind us that great travel still starts with great hospitality.

About The World’s 50 Best Hotels

50 Best launched The World’s 50 Best Hotels in 2023 after the success of its Restaurants and Bars lists. It was the brand’s first global launch since 2009. The list is created by The World’s 50 Best Hotels Academy. More than 800 independent leaders vote. Each is chosen for their expertise in the international hotel scene.

The programme includes the awards ceremony and the reveal of the list. It brings together hoteliers, restaurateurs, bar owners, media, business travellers and luxury travellers. It is a celebration of hospitality, passion and talent.
