Can Ferrereta will be one of Spain’s most exciting hotel openings in 2021. Created by the team behind the famous Sant Francesc Hotel Singular in Palma de Mallorca it promises to be a chic, understated boutique hotel with 32 rooms. The 17th-century mansion is being restored to its former glory and will be home to one of Mallorc’’s most exciting collections of modern art.
Can Ferrereta will be the first luxury boutique hotel to open in the charming rural town of Santanyí in the south-east of Mallorca. Many of the 32 boutique hotel bedrooms will feature private terraces and patios, while the Can Ferrereta suite will have its own private swimming pool and garden.
Can Ferrereta will also be home to Mediterranean terraced restaurant OCRE which will serve delicious seasonal dishes made with local produce. This small chic hotel is certainly going to pack a punch with two bars, 25m swimming pool, gym and a beautifully designed SA CALMA spa, complete with hammam and an indoor pool.
Mallorcan-based BASTIDAS Architecture and Spanish design house WIT are the design team behind Can Ferrereta alongside the Soldevila-Ferrer family who own the hotel and who have carefully overseen and been involved with the project from start to finish. Think grand summer house filled with light and space, rustic beams, original stone and bespoke furniture against the backdrop of modern art focusing on local and Spanish artists.
The village of Santanyí is in one of the most authentic and historic locations in south-east Mallorca, occupying a lovely position slightly inland from more than 48km of stunning coastline. Santanyí is next to the second-largest nature park in the Balearics, Mondragó Natural Park, a paradise for hiking and nature lovers. It also offers easy access to some of Mallorca’s most beautiful and unspoilt sandy beaches. Santanyí attracts many international artists and today, art plays a central role.
