A place to feel at home. ‘A country haven, sculpted over centuries by ancient heather, woodland, gardens and meadows. Heckfield Place is both tamed and gently wild.’

Heckfield Place is run by Olivia Richli one of the most stylish and experienced GM’s you’ll come across - she was the GM at Amanjiwo where I spent my honeymoon. Heckfield Place is a relatively new British boutique hotel opening in Hampshire, South-West England, it opened on 1st September 2018 after a six-year delay and nearly 10 years in the making. This 18th-century mansion has had all original features restored and has 6 suites and 38 rooms retaining the feel of the home that it once was. The rooms at Heckfield Place are described as ‘resolutely natural, elegantly evolving; a beautiful piece of english history that redefines the idea of a hotel.’

Heckfield Place is filled with art from the owner Gerald Chan’s private collection adding to the feeling of a homely, yet luxurious place to stay. Sustainability plays a big part here inside and outside with a 400-acre estate that boasts lakes, woodland and bio-dynamic home farm which produces flowers, vegetables and fresh fruit. Foodies won’t be disappointed with the Marle and Hearth dining rooms, both offering simple yet delicious dishes full of flavor. Hearth is where you’ll want to get cosy around the fire in the converted stables and you may well find you’re still there late into the afternoon having enjoyed some melt-in-mouth, slow-cooked lamb.

Fitness aficionados will love the partnership that the Bothy Spa has with Bodyism and the 5 treatment rooms have their own brand Wildsmith which can’t be found anywhere else.
